Built in 1923, nowadays our distillery is fully refurbished and modernized. In 2017 a completely new, fully automated installation was built by the Ukrainian TEHINSERVICE company. ZAHARNI ZAVODI also has other equipment, mainly by the German SCHMITT group, as well as by GAE Wiegand, ANHIDRO and Dycon.
The ethyl alcohol production capacity of one of the operating installations is 60,000 l/24 hours. The production process is continuous and the technology guarantees quality products.
Our ethyl alcohol is produced from high-quality grain. It is fully compatible with the requirements of Regulation (ЕU) 2019/787 of the European Parliament and The Council and with the European Pharmacopoeia.
The company is certified by DNV GL and has implemented an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system as well as HACCP. ZAHARNI ZAVODI has certificates for sustainable development in the production of bioethanol, in accordance with the requirements of the Directive For Renewable Energy Sources of the ISCC EU certification system.
ZAHARNI ZAVODI is an approved supplier to leading international and Bulgarian food, drinks, perfumery, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and chemical producers.
ZAHARNI ZAVODI produces high-quality pure ethanol with a minimum alcohol content of 96%. High-quality grain is used as a raw material for its production.
The ethanol produced by the company has neutral taste and smell and is suitable for the production of alcoholic drinks. Its quality is in compliance with REGULATION (ЕО) № 110/2008 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND THE COUNCIL.
ZAHARNI ZAVODI produces different types of denatured ethanol unsuitable for human consumption. Denaturation is a process during which a combination of denaturants (chemical substances) is added to ethyl alcohol, which make it unsuitable for human consumption. We produce denatured ethanol according to the Common European Method, various special methods, as well as methods, especially developed for the client.
ZAHARNI ZAVODI produces dehydrated ethanol with minimum alcohol content of 99%. High-quality grains are used as a raw material for its production.
ZAHARNI ZAVODI produces bottled denaturated ethanol for in-home purposes.
The bottled denaturated ethanol is used as an efficient means for lighting up barbecues and fireplaces, thinner for various paints and adhesives, as well as for removal of grease stain and deposits on tiles, sanitary ware, parquet, glass etc.
It is sold in two consumer packages of 0,450l and 1l.
ZAHARNI ZAVODI produces fuel for bio fireplaces through denaturation of ethanol with alcohol content of minimum 99% using a common method.
The bio fireplace fuel does not have harmful gas emissions and is odorless during burning.
It is sold in one consumer package – 1l.
